Yesterday 5/6A visited the Life Ed Van. We learnt about making good decisions, different types of drugs (harmful drugs, medicine drugs, illegal drugs and legal drugs) and appropriate ways of using social media. We also heard some jokes from Harold.

Yesterday the senior unit held their inquiry expo based on making comparisons between Australia and an Asuan country. The expo also included some Asian cooking from the different countries that the students researched.

The Senior Unit were able to share all of there knowledge about social media at the unit’s expo held on Tuesday. Students showed off their amazing videos and inquiry gift books, which explained the positive and negative impacts that social media is having on communities, individuals, families, friends and businesses across the world. On Anzac Day, the school captains represented the school at Traralgon’s 11:00 commemorative service. The captains, along with representatives from other schools and community groups, laid a wreath in respect of the soldiers who have fought for and represented our country.

We have discussed the importance of unpacking quality seeds to unable us to complete fantastic pieces of writing. This week we are going to use some media (image, news article and video) to assist us in unpacking a seed. We will use the headings Description (of the topic), My Opinion/s, Feeling Words and Key Facts to assist us when unpacking the seed.
