Asian Inquiry Expo

Yesterday the senior unit held their inquiry expo based on making comparisons between Australia and an Asuan country. The expo also included some Asian cooking from the different countries that the students researched.

    -Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country.
    In Japan, one thing I learnt about my inquiry country is that all of our technology comes from there. For example, all of our Phones, Laptops and other electronics are. Out likely to come from Japan. When Japan sends over Electronics, in return we. Give them our crops and meat. Things such as, Wheat, Cattle, Corn and other things

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The big difference between Japan and Australia is population. In Japan, at McDonalds you only have a minimum of 50cm space to eat. Where as in Australia we have more than metres of space to eat our delicious meals.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    One similarity with Japan and Australia is the food. Both countries really appreciate their foods and sometimes they even eat the other countries food.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    On inquiry day, I thought the Japanese pancakes were the best by far. I think they were the best because you had more than one topping to put on it and they were made from scratch. They were absolutely delicious.

    I learnt that in my inquiry group Thailand has the same tran sport as us and more.

    The difference between Australia and Thailand is a lot like there food is different and they talk different and a lot of other stuff is different.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The same between Thailand and Australis is they have some trans sport that is the same but the rest is different.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    The best Asian food was probably was the chicken balls whith ginger. Why because the meat just melted in your moth.

    I learnt that the cars they use in Thailand are like motorbikes and the model of the vehicle is a car with a sidecar.
    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    Food because they use rice in most there meals and what they eat and we use all kind of food in Australia and we eat our type of food.
    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The hotels are the same because some hotels are bad and some are amazing like some five star hotels in Thailand had pools and breakfast in bed.
    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    I like the chicken rice balls because the ingredients where tasty and the way they where cooked until nice and perfect.

  4. Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country- I learnt that North and South Korea had a war and they split apart and became two different country’s. They have the war because of different political reasons.

    Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia- There cultures are different because in South Korea when they have parades they dress up in fancy customs and go over the top. In Australia we will just have little parades and just speak.

    Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia- South Korea and Australia have the same transport for an example trains, busses, cars and other stuff.

    Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why- I did not like it at all because it was so TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING, GROSS and YUCK, and because of all the yucky flavours

  5. I learnt a lot from inquiry like what Thai food taste like and the comparisons or and the differences, over 100,000 people in Thailand.
    One of the difference is Australia isn’t a third world country and Thailand is a third world country and another is Thailand drug the animals so they won’t hurt zoo visitors.

    Some of the similarities are they both have vehicles they may not have the same name or the same shape but they still have cars/ boats and trains/trams.
    For the inquiry food I liked mr prices group they made chow men and I liked it because I’ve had it before and I was used to the taste.

    I learnt that there favourite sport is golf because they like the nice wind and the hotness. The also like it because it’s relaxing for them to play a quiet game because it’s really hot over there most of the year. I also learnt that they are way different then us because we like a loud game where everyone gets involved and it’s very loud. But they like quiet and it’s really relaxing but the footy isn’t relaxing it’s really loud and close so it will be scary.

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The Transport, The transport is different because there is really dangers and nobody cares but in Australia we are safe we stop for people and everything but in Thailand they don’t care they just keep going they don’t care what happens to you. I think that we care because we get in heaps of trouble for running someone over and we will go to jail but if they run someone over they will get away with it 75% of the time.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    Both countries have a worm type of season because we have a hot season and they have a hot season. The food is different but we both have rice they have rice with every mill but we still have rive with a little bit. The population is different they have more but we are both little countries Australia is small compared to everywhere us in the world and Thailand is pretty small as we’ll.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and whey
    I like mr price the china project because I liked it the best but there was a little bit of it I didn’t like but I still liked it a little bit compared to all the others but I liked the Thailand one to it had som type of spice what I liked about it but I didn’t like the lime souse it wasn’t my type of flavour

    I learnt that South Korea is one of the smallest country’s in Asia and that in South Korea you are born 1 year old, also that Korea is tiny and it is about the size of Victoria and NSW!

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    Australia’s lasagne is different to South Koreas Lasagne, because Australia has 26 letters in the alphabet and Korea has over 100 他 大酒åŗ—å¤§ę£€ęŸ„你就叠 etc.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    Samsung phones because South Korea imports Samsung phones and Huandi cars to Australia so we can use them.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    Sushi. I’d never had Sushi before but I think it tasted the best because it just did and it tasted better than the rice, hamburgers, and the other stuff because it was made by mr Andrew and I watched him struggle when he was making it, but it still tasted really nice.

  8. What I learned:
    ~I learned that China is the largest country in Asia.

    Differences between China and Australia:
    ~China speaks a different language because they speak Chinese, and we speak English.
    ~In China, they are only allowed to have one child unless that child is disabled.

    Similarities between China and Australia:
    ~In Chinese classrooms, they have a whiteboard, tables, chairs and charts. (The same as Australia).

    My favourite food was…
    ~The Beef Chow Mein because the flavour was great.

    I learnt that South Korea and North Korea was once one big country but when war struck the two country’s split up..

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The difference between the country South Korea compared to Australia is that
    Australia is bigger than South Korea and even if it was joined
    together with North Korea.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The similarity is that they both have cars and transport.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    I like miss Browns food because it it had flags on it and it
    tasted really good.

  10. Indian Inquiry

    -Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country.

    I learnt most Indians which is 95% are vegetarians. That means they rarely eat meat. They mostly eat salad and when they’ve finished eating they swallow a rose petal. Apparently that cleans their breath.

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.

    INDIA
    In India when they go to the toilet they don’t wipe their bottom with toilet paper but they USE THEIR LEFT HAND. Not their right because they shake hands with their right hand. Their parents organise arranged marriages.

    AUSTRALIA
    In Australia we eat met nearly all the time and we have a lot lower percentage of vegetarians. When we go to the toilet we CAN use toilet paper. Here in Australia we can choose who we will marry, when we will have the wedding and where we’ll have the wedding.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    I absolutely loved the Indian Samosas we made in Mrs. Smythe inquiry group in the Staff room. I didn’t really enjoy the orange Indian tea.

  11. I learnt that Korea was one country until they had a war so now their is South Korea and North Korea. The Capital city of South Korea Seoul. That Korea giver us phones and TVs.

    That South Korea where traditional clothing and Australia where west cloths. South Korea eat steered fried. South Korea has a different tradition.

    Before inquiry I did not now that South Korea and North Korea had a war.

    I loved mr price because i tasted so good.

  12. Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country.
    I learnt why South Korea and North Korea are two different countries because They had the clod war in 1945 then in 1952 they stopped and then they tend into two different countries.

    They love there soccer and we love our AFL/Aussie rules.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    They both make cars and they both have government that work together

    I liked mr price and mrs.bribery food most of was bad but it was a good day

(1) I learnt that Thai money is called Baht and whenever you change Australian money to Thai money it will always be a bigger number than what you had before and it costs lots of Baht to buy stuff in Thailand because the numbers get bigger every time you change them to Thai baht. If you have $428.60 Australian dollars you will have 13400 Thai baht.

    (2) A difference between Australia and Thailand is that in Thailand the native animals live in places like jungles and the safari. For example, monkeys and elephants are some of their native animals and they live in either the jungle or the safari.

    (3) A similarity between Thailand and Australia is that Thailand and Australia both have some spicy and some mild food in very famous restaurants in big cities within the land

    (4) I tried most of the food and have had others at home before and I didn’t like any of them because the tasted weird because I’ve had chow min before and it’s discussing so I didn’t try it . The food in one of the other rooms looked like sushi and I hate sushi. In Ms Smythe and Ms Bradbury’s room wasn’t for kids or didn’t have it yet.

I have learnt that Thailand riding elephant and they have flooding market and in there zoo they drug there animals so people can pat there animals and Thailand people don’t live in the house that Australia lives in and Thailand can speak Australian.Thailand has bath for they money and they have dollars. I like the china food it was very very yum and I like Thailand food.

    -Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country.
    I have learnt that Yen is smaller amount of money then you think it is, if you converted it into AUD it’s a smaller amount of money.

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    The clothing is way different to Australia from Japan because Japan’s clothing is a traditional by wearing kimono witch is made out of silk and Australia’s clothing is mostly made out of kangaroo and wallaby and more different skins.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    Some Japanese people can talk English.

    – Explain which Asian food you liked the best and why.
    I liked chicken suaki in Ms Bradbury’s Japan group where I was because it was yum how it tasted and it was different to I have eaten before.

  16. In inquiry, I learnt that India is a very small country but their population is well over 1 billion. Also, they don’t have a very good sewerage system so they wipe their bum with their left hand and they shake hands with their right hand. India is 4,852 miles away from Australia.

    Some differences are, 1, they are a third world country. 2, 95% of people in India are vegetarians, 3, they view some of their animals sacred and they worship those animals, that is why most of them are vegetarians.
    Some similarities are, 1, we both have the same drinking age, 18 the same voting age, 18 and we both choose our leaders.

    The food I liked the best was probably the Japanese pancake because it tasted a lot like a Big Mac burger which is my most favourite burger in the whole wide world!!!!! I did like everything though except for the Indian orange flavoured tea which wasn’t that bad when it was hot but when I’d was cold it was the most discussing thing I had ever had to drink!!!!

    In inquiry learnt that India wipes their bums with their hands because of the pluming so they wipe there bums with there hands. Another thing that I leant that their animals a sacred and the most sacred animal is the elephant and the don’t eat meat because all animals a sacred.

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia.
    India and Pakistan have fighting over water and steel to this day they have fighting steel.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia.
    India and Australia both a play sport and the sports are soccer, cricket and hockey. Another similarity is that we both have gods and animals.

I know where that Beijing is in china and there only allowed to have one kid or if they did have two kids they would get a find and have to pay lots of money. And there population was to big china had the highest population in the world that’s why there not allowed more then two kids because there population was to big.

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia. That china they speak different language tourist attraction they have different government and they have temple of heaven for bitten city and Great Wall of china so they most of the things we want to visit over there different food.

    -Describe one similarity between your inquiry country and Australia. We have some of the same sports.

    In India they have arrange marriages. The parents chooses the daughter husband. Even if they are worst enemies. I learnt that 95% of Indians are vegetarian. I learnt that

    In India they wipe their bums with their left hand but they shake with their right hand. I think that they wash their hands after wiping with their left hand.
    In India the women have to be fully clothed. The only thing is, their only allowed to have their face and legs( knee to the feet)

    India and Australia have the same government. They both vote for their Prime Minister. They both have more boys then girls. Boys are more versatile then girls.

    My favourite food was the chow min because it hade the real taste to it.

  20. Inquiry was Japan

    -Describe one thing you learnt about your inquiry country.
    I learnt that the Japanese food is one of the top rated foods in the world. They have duck, soba, rice sushi. The nation flag is officially called Nisshoki is a white rectangle with a red dot. The way people in Japan traditionally dress has been a topic. The yen in Japan is the coin what is the most value coin. $6 per coin.

    Australia

    -Describe one difference between your inquiry country and Australia
    Australia is the top largest producers of meatiness the world. We like to eat fish and ships, all kind of meat and vegemite. It is the second largest exporter of beef in the world. The Australia flag was chosen by the Australian people in the year of national federation (1901) it was from 32,823 entries received in a design competition.
