  1. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
England was really bad, It was very dirty and most people died of starvation because they didn’t have any food that’s why people had to steal so there family can survive but sometime they got court so they got put in jail some even got hanged because they did something pretty bad but if they did a crime now it wouldn’t be that bad because where a little bit less mean.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
The under decks were very small and the convicts had to stay in there for 8 months and around 40 people died and 7 babies were born. At the start it was really worm until they got near Australia it was really cold. The convicts didn’t see any sun because they were under the decks most of the time that’s why they got silk because they didn’t get any finder min see.
    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
They would have been shocked because they didn’t know where they were going so they would have been shocked when they see Australia and because they thought they were going to a really bad place but when they see Australia it was a new start for them.
    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet
I think the indigenous people wouldn’t like the idea of then taking over and making rules and that. Example: How would you like it if there was a really good place that you have been living on and there were no rules then these people came and started making rules and really kicking you out of your land? The indigenous people wouldn’t of like them coming and wrecking there nature because the England people just came and chopped down all there trees and started making stuff.

  2. Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet
Lots of people stole food, clothes and other people stuff because they had nothing. It’s was very unfair for some people because they had to live on the streets or they had to starve. It was cruel because people got sent to jail from just stealing potatoes. Young people were sentenced to death and some people got hanged or shot. It was very terrible because the people had to spend ages on a ship, with diseases all threw it, with people vomiting on you. The sewage flooded lots off drains. Some kids normally stole loafs of bread. Lots of people were pour and not even close to rich.
Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet
It was very hot, lots of diseases were spread around. Kids and some adults were sick and vomiting. There were lots of rodents, rats, cockroaches, mice, spiders. The conditions on the ships were horrible. People died from diseases, starvation or dehydrated. It was mostly terrible where the convicts stayed.
Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
I think the convicts would of felt very confuse and had no idea where they were. I think they would have felt a bit good because they might of thought it was a surprise since they have been trapped on the ship for ages. I think they would of felt good because of the weather it was nice and sunny and bright. I think they would of felt good because they were finally in fresh air and out of all the hot icky stuff.
Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.
I think they would have felt a bit mad because they have stepped into their territory, and have brined a lot of strangers that they had no idea who they are. I think they would of felt a bit shy people they did not know who they were because of their colours, they thought they were sprites because of their skin. I think they would of felt like they were in trouble because all a sudden all these massive ships have just landed into their own home

  3. Before the first fleet, England was littered with discussing stuff. for example: the gutters were filled with raw sewerage, the prisons were a stink covered in food scraps and raw sewerage, crime was everywhere and there wasn’t grave yards so dead people were buried in poor’s holes.

On the first fleet, people were held in the hull in separate ”prisons” which were much like those that were in England. The holes at the deck to get into the prisons were 1.5 metres by 1 metre wide. People got sea sick and the cells probably were filled with spew.

The convicts wouldn’t have known where they were. They would probably think that wherever they were going it would be a lot worse. But it was actually a lot better than England (no offence to England but it’s true). They probably liked it infinite times more than England.

The indigenous would of felt scared because they wouldn’t have known what the English were going to do. Also they probably never saw a white person before. Also, they might have thought that they came for war and that they had lots of extremely dangerous weapons. For example: guns, cannons, swords, knives and axes.

  4. Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
Life on the first fleet was hard, you would have to sleep in your toilet and imagine not having a bed if you were on the first fleet you would be in trouble for the most stupid things eg. Acting like an Egyptians and stealing a potato.

Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
Disgusting. Imagine if you had to sleep in your toilet the smell would be yucky and you were hardly allowed to go on the top deck, and when the boat tipped the water would go to the bottom of the boat and make the smell worst! There was a boat for people under 18 called The Friendship.

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
Better because they would have had fresh air which would be better than being stuck down in the boat, it would feel good to not be convicted and sent to a court and Captain Author Phillip was a nice man and they built a school and the kids got to learn- it would have been a better life in Australia than England.

    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.
If I was one of the indigenous people I would be so angry at the English people because they didn’t ask if they could come over and they tried to make them go back.

  5. Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
I think it was horrible because there was very bad disease and the prison sales were crowed. I think it really bed because some lady where pregnant on the first

    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
The condition were really bad because disease were spreading in the prison sales

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
Life would have been better because they were free and they was not in the prison.
    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.

  6. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
Life would be like hell because there’s no underground sewage pipes so it stunk like rotten food and you couldn’t buy anything because you were too poor so it’s unlikely for you to be able to live there. If you stole a potato you could get hanged but if you were young you would go to prison and maybe die there.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
The conditions on the first fleet were like you’re going to die because people will be throwing up and you would sleep on the floor so it’s uncomfortable then you’ve got to be stuck underneath the ship for a year.
    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
When the convicts arrived at Australia they were transferred from the ship to the land and had to work right away so they could be able to do things like build farms for their animals and houses so they could live there.
    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.
They would have felt worried because there was so many of them there and they had clothes, guns and supplies with them and they could have killed them right away but they didn’t that is why they let them build there I think. They could’ve wonder if they were more people around the world then just them.

  7. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet. Life in England was terrible they slept in seers and if you stole to survive you will BE HANGED TO DEATH. The people were pore that’s why they stole.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
They were descanting people slept in it would smell bad like cows and horses I wish I was not there to sleep in it and poow in buckets squished in it and lots more bad stuff.

  8. – Explain what life was like England England to the First Fleet.
The live was hard in England because most people where England, people had to stilling food for them to eat, had no money and too many fights in England.

    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
People had to sleep on the ground because when people go to the toilet. When the ships rocked and the bucket movies across the floor and the bucket tips over on the floor. People had to sleep on the floor where people have went to the toilet.

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
People would have been scared, nervous, disappointed and worried because they might don’t know about this place and have no idea what this place is.

    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.
If I was indigenous and if I had a chose to say. I would say. This is disgraceful if you the first fleet came along and rowing our world.

  9. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
I think that they would have been difficult for people that were poor and that they would have been steeling for food so they can survive and not die and they would have slept on the floor and they would have been rotten thing, sewage and they would of slept in it.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
On the first fleet, it would be like the same thing on the land like sewage rats and other pest and they would not get lots of sun light and they would turn out fat because they would not get enough exercise but they might have let them out of the ship and let them have fresh air.
    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
I think that they would have been relived that they have got out of the ship and got fresh air and that they could meet other people which would be aboriginal but the aboriginal didn’t like them here.
    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.
I think that they would of felt like curious that other people just took over Australia and they probably don’t want them there

  10. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.

The life in England was horrible and cruel. If you got caught committing a small crime like pretending to be someone else you could get sentenced to death by hanging. Some kids stole a loaf of bread and were sentenced to being shipped to another country. Sewage flooded the drains and litter was dumped all around the alley ways.

    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.

The conditions on the ships were terrible. There were lots of rodents such as Cockroaches, Rats/mice, spiders and many others. Down below the deck the conditions were terrible because there were lots of diseases. It was hot underneath where the convicts stayed/slept.

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.

When the convicts arrived in Australia the convicts would’ve felt unsure, hesitant, unconfident and apprehensive. I think they would’ve wanted to return to England because they had, had enough of working for the soldiers.

    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet.

The indigenous people would’ve felt unsure of the arrivals who were the people from England. I think the indigenous people would’ve drove the convicts off by telling them “THIS IS OUR LAND/COUNTRY!!!”

  11. The First Fleet!!!

    – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet?
It was a horrifying life to be living in England. It was so horrible because the only two things you could be were incredibly rich or incredibly poor. You would have to be really lucky to have the normal houses we have today. Most of the poor people lived in the back alley-ways where raw sewage flowed down open gutters and kids had to play in it. I would definitely not like to live in England back then.

    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet?
The conditions at the First Fleet were just as horrible as living in England. The convicts would have been getting sea sick and vomit would be all over the hulls floor. The convicts also didn’t have toilets, so they had to go in buckets. A rocking ship and a liquidly bucket are definitely not a great mix. Their feces and wee was all over the floor. They were also were not allowed out of the hull (the bottom part of a ship), so they had no fresh air to breathe. There could have been diseases also.

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia?
The life in Australia would have been hard to survive in. the convicts had no supplies or freedom. They had to work hard labour every day and it was incredibly hard for them. They had no fresh food, other than their crops, and they had no supplies of water, other than the closest dam or river. The weather there was incredibly cold and wet so it was hard for them to sleep. They had to sleep in tents that could have been really cold. On the up side, some of the convicts were freed and got given a little bit of land to live on.

    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet?
If I were one of the indigenous people back then, I would be absolutely furious. They are invading our land and scaring away our native animals. They should not be wrecking our land. It is horrible.

  12. #1:
Before the First Fleet, the criminals in England were in a prison that was extremely crammed because there was so many prisoners. This was because people in England were mostly very poor so they had to steal things like food for them to survive. Even if you committed the smallest crime, you could still get transported or even sentenced to death.
    #2:
On the ships of the first fleet, it was extremely unpleasant, because there was always sewage on the floors where the prisoners had to sleep. If someone got seasick, they were not allowed to to the top deck to be sick, they had to stay in the hull and vomit there, with all the other sewage such as the other prisoner’s buisness.
    #3:
Life in Australia would of still been hard, even with the clean air and the ground, the way the prisoners were being treated by the guards was terrible. They were being treated like they were invisible and worthless. The prisoners would have been very nervous and frightened because they would have just got off the ship and stepped on to a new land with a completely new environment and none of their family there to support them.
    #4:
The indigenous people would have felt furious to find out that their home country was being invaded by a bunch of unwanted criminals! The indigenous people would have wanted to refuse to let them in but unfourtunetly, they did not have enough power to make a big decision like that, against everyone else.

  13. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
Life in England/London was very strict and if you stole something you would be sentence to death by hanging. Life was also very disgusting because if you were a convict you would basically sleeping in poo. The reason why people were on boats is because back in London the jail seals were too full so they turned boats in to jail seals.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
The conditions would be very different for the convicts from London because in London there temperatures are totally different.
    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
Life would of been very strict still because even if the convicts came to Australia it still would of been strict because there was not anything there. The convicts even had to build there own house. Sometimes the king felt sorry for the convicts so he let so go but not most of the times.
    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet. Indigenous people were very flightless because they didn’t have any guns.

  14. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet.
I think that it was very poor because many people had to steal just to live and if the poor people stole and the rich people blamed it on them and the judge would have believed the rich people.
    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet.
I think it would be very sad because there was no toilets part from buckets, no privacy, freezing cold in some parts and sometimes hot in some parts in the ship and sleep rough and with a very contagious illness called scurvy.
    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia.
I think it would’ve been better for the convicts because they would’ve had freedom and a better life style with building houses and with food to eat and much happier being out of the small area in the jails without having colds.

  15. They use the staeet a toleter and the people could not surive because it was dirty it had rat small and horse small and kids if they were poor people would buy them off their mum and dad and use they as slaves.
It was dirty they would have to poop in a bucket and some of the poop would tip over on the conditions and they sleep on the grand were the poop is and it goes on them

  16. Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleet. It was a lot meaner in the olden days because they didn’t have a lot of money and the moms of kids had to sell their kids so they could have lots of money and so they don’t die. If it was me in the olden days I would probably be trying to survive (that would be my main problem in life)
Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet. They whir really bad condition’s because when they were under the bout it smelled like a sewer because they had no were else to go to the toilet in the bottom of the bout.
Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia. If you ask me I think they all wanted to die on that bout because the conditions were really bad in the bout it smelled like the sewer. (What would you feel like if you were in the sewer for 8 month at least?)

  17. – Explain what life was like in England prior to the First Fleets dirty in England. People could not survive because it was dirty it had rat smells and horse smells and kids if they were poor people would buy them off their mums and dad and use them as slaves.

    – Describe what the conditions were like on the First Fleet. It was dirty because they would have to poo in a bucket and some of them poo would tip over and the smell would be so bad and plus they had to sleep on the floor were all the poo were.

    – Explain what life would’ve have been like for the convicts when they arrived to Australia. Sad because they had to go away from their kids and wife and they are sad because they want to go back home but they cant. Some of them would get killed by the aboriginals if they would walk away from their place so really they couldn’t escape.

    – Explain how the indigenous people would’ve have felt when their land was invaded by the First Fleet. They would have been scared because they’ve never seen white people with guns

  18. I think it was good for us to learn about the first fleet because so we can learn what happened in the ships. Also where they traveled and for us to learn about how the olden days were.
